— Overview
About the venue
The Exhibition Space is ARTME Creative Space’s modular gallery: a contemporary showcase designed for solo and group exhibitions, artist residencies and ambitious curatorial projects.
A modular gallery
The exhibition space adapts to each project: classic hanging, immersive installations, sculpture, ceramics or digital works. This flexibility allows ARTME to present both established figures on the Mauritian scene and emerging talents worth discovering.
Programming
The programme explores strong themes and singular perspectives on the contemporary world. Notable exhibitions include Benevolence, examining kindness as a creative stance; Ki Lepok? by photographer Keivan Cadinouche; and Can Happiness Find You?, a solo show by Patrick Ricco.
Outdoor space & residencies
Beyond the indoor gallery, the large lawn surrounding the site hosts open-air exhibitions, monumental sculpture and ephemeral installations. A residency studio also allows artists to produce on site, in direct dialogue with the curatorial team and the public.
Opening hours
Exhibitions are open Monday to Friday, 10 am to 5 pm (public holidays included) and Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm. Entry is free or by invitation depending on the event — check the ARTME agenda for upcoming vernissages.
The Exhibition Space embodies ARTME’s vision: art that is accessible, alive and deeply human, rooted in Cap Malheureux and open to the international contemporary scene.
